Manager of System Safety Programs – Atlanta, GA

MARTA is the ninth largest transit system in the U.S. and North America that provides, bus, rail and mobility services for the elderly & disabled.  MARTA’s service population is 1.65 million in the City of Atlanta, Fulton and Dekalb Counties.  MARTA provides service for nearly half a million passenger boarding’s each weekday.

MARTA operates 600 buses with 132 bus routes covering 1000 route miles per day.  MARTA’s Mobility service operates 175 lift-vans.  MARTA operates 338 rail cars in 38 stations on 48.1 miles of rail.  MARTA provides direct access to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport with a rail station that drops off right inside the terminal.  
 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Risk Management, Physical Sciences, Engineering or a related technical field. Must have 8 years of directly related job experience, including 6 years utilizing scientific and engineering principles to effectively identify, control and eliminate system and sub-system hazards in a safety orientated culture. An Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification desirable.  Experience can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
 
INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
ASP, CSP or CHMM desirable.
