Ex-McCain aide Begeman named to STB
Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-ChiefPresident Obama has nominated Ann D. Begeman, Republican staff director for the Senate Commerce Committee, to fill the Republican seat on the Surface Transportation Board now held by Chip Nottingham, whose term expires Dec. 31. Senate confirmation is required.
Begeman previously was Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain’s legislative director (2004-2009) and was the staff of his presidential campaign.
The two Democratic STB members are Chairman Dan Elliott and Frank Mulvey.
