Eta Phi Systems now “ETA Transit Systems”
Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-ChiefTransit vehicle tracking system developer Eta Phi Systems, Boynton Beach, Fla., has changed its name to ETA Transit Systems.
“Everyone who has ever traveled via mass transit knows how important the ‘estimated time of arrival’ or ‘ETA’ is for keeping busy schedules intact,” says President and General Manager John Maglio. “But for transit system operators, whose schedules impact thousands of passengers every day, ETA is everything. That’s why we are changing our name from Eta Phi Systems to something that is instantly recognizable in the transit industry. We wanted to be able to speak more directly to our industry. At the same time, we didn’t want to lose any of the name recognition that we’d already established. ETA Transit Systems is able to achieve both goals, and will help to better position the company as an industry leader.”
Maglio also notes that “it is an ideal time to make the change.
SPOT is a scaleable computer platform that gathers GPS data about vehicle locations and displays it in real-time, allowing operators to know precisely where vehicles are at all times. Originally developed for passenger rail systems, ETA Transit Systems has just recently launched a version dedicated to bus operations.
“We expect that by changing our name now, we will be able to gain even greater brand recognition in both rail and bus markets,” says Maglio. “We already offer the most full-featured and attractively priced system available.”
