Port Authority Trans-Hudson
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is a bi-state public agency operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the New York / New Jersey region including The Port Authority Trans Hudson Corporation (PATH), the primary transit link between Manhattan and New Jersey communities and suburban commuter railroads.
The successful candidate will perform skilled labor duties in the assembly, installation, modification, repair, testing and maintenance of a variety of complex electronic systems and equipment, including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System and related Power Substation equipment. Perform in-shop and field preventive maintenance, complex troubleshooting and repair work to diagnose and correct electronic system malfunctions and assists in the restoration of interrupted electrical service, and provide technical guidance to other personnel.
Eligibility Requirements: Candidates must present the following: *High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required. *Successful completion of vocational/technical/military training and/or advanced education(Associate’s Degree or higher), and/or an apprenticeship program in the electronics field, resulting in a diploma/certification is highly desirable.*Four-years (4) of continuous full-time paid work experience, at the journey level in installation, wiring, testing, diagnosis, repair, application programming, servicing and preventive maintenance of electronic control systems.*A valid driver’s license is required
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate will present the following qualification profile: *Extensive knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), their associated control systems and Cimplicity Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s) *Extensive knowledge Networked Electronic Control Systems related to the field of Power Distribution or Industrial Automation. Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in a written test to measure such factors as knowledge of solid-state logic, electronic circuiting and devices, control technology, test instruments and troubleshooting. Successful written test applicants may be asked to participate in performance exam designed to measure such factors as the candidate’s knowledge, skills and ability to perform electronic work. In addition, successful candidate from the written exam and performance exam will be invited to participate in an interview consisting of technical questions designed to measure such factors as job related knowledge/skills and interest and qualifications to the position. Selected candidates will be subject to a comprehensive background check.
