Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-Chief

Parsons Corp. Wednesday said it has appointed William “Bill” Crosbie vice president of Railroad Programs and Deputy Sector Manager in the Rail and Transit Division of its Transportation Group. Crosbie will lead the overall expansion and strategic development of Parsons’ railroad programs, including freight and passenger rail and rail infrastructure security protection programs.

Prior to joining Pasadena, Calif.-based Parsons, Crosbie served as chief operating officer of Amtrak, where he directed the transportation, engineering (infrastructure), mechanical (rolling stock), police and security, environmental, health, and safety functions.

He also served as signals/electrical/communications general superintendant for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) and later served as the subway transportation general superintendant for TTC. He began his railroad industry with Canadian Pacific, where he spent the first six years traveling Canada and the United States, designing and commissioning railway signal and communication systems.

“Parsons is very pleased to have Bill on board,” said Parsons Senior Vice President and Rail and Transit Systems Division Manager Takis Salpeas. “He is a highly regarded, innovative railroad leader whose talents and skills will be instrumental in Parsons’ continued growth in the railroad, security, and rail systems markets.”
