Calgary picks Telvent fare collection system
Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-ChiefThe City of Calgary has selected Telvent to provide a contactless smart card based fare collection system for Calgary Transit’s light rail and bus system, which serves more than 94 million passengers a year.
According to Telvent’s chairman and CEO, Ignacio Gonzalez, the company "has successfully executed a wide range of transit management projects in Europe, North and South America and the Asia Pacific region, and assures the safe travel of more than 2.5 billion passengers worldwide."
