Bombardier Transportation said Tuesday it has signed a five-year contract with Houston Airport System of the City of Houston for the operation and maintenance of its INNOVIA APM 100 automated people mover system at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Subject to meeting the agreed performance targets, the contract also includes a three-year extension to 2018, followed by a two-year discretionary option to extend to 2020.

For the first five years, the contract is valued at roughly $27 million, Bombardier said.

The people mover runs roughly one mile, with four stations connecting three airport terminals.

Eran Gartner, president, Systems Division, Bombardier Transportation, said, “Weare delighted to return to the George Bush Intercontinental Airport with our competitive INNOVIA O&M operations and maintenance services after five years out.”
