BNSF, FuelQuest extend fuel management pact

Vantuono, Editor-in-ChiefFuelQuest, Inc., an on-demand software and services company for the energy industry, said Wednesday BNSF Railway has extended its use of FuelQuest’s Fuel Management System (FMS) and Zytax tax automation software and services for an additional five years.
“We require a solution that centralizes fuel procurement andmanagement to drive operational excellence and cost savings,” said Casey Gourley, BNSF director of fuel management. “FMS and Zytax allow our fuel team to simplify and streamline operations to better support the demands of our industry and the complex needs of our customers.”
FuelQuest says its FMS and Zytax help maintain security of fuel supply, optimize fuel purchasing, and automate fuel tax determination and compliance.
“Rail and intermodal transportation have unique challenges andcomplexity from a fuel supply perspective,” said Matt Tormollen, president and CEO of FuelQuest. “Since the inception of our relationship in 2006, we have collaborated closely with the BNSF team to provide greater financial control of fuel purchasing and improved visibility of fuel inventory across their vast rail network.”
