Ahuja earns INFORMS-RAS Distinguished Member Award
Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-ChiefINFORMS (Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences) fellow Dr. Ravi Ahuja has been awarded the 2013 Distinguished Member Award from the organization’s Railway Applications Section (RAS).
Ahuja, president and CEO of Innovative Scheduling and a professor at the University of Florida, is being recognized “for his outstanding contributions in giving RAS a new direction and inspiring others to follow in his footsteps. His noteworthy accomplishments include guiding students to do award-winning research in rail applications, making fundamental contributions in advanced rail analytics, and promoting RAS through special events, newsletters, websites, and more.”
Founded in 1994, the Railway Applications Section provides a forum to bring together practitioners, consultants, and academics interested in applying OR and MS techniques to the railroad industry.
