Second Avenue Subway: The Gray Lady got it wrong

On Dec. 21, 2016, the National Railroad Construction & Maintenance Association (NRC) named the Walong to Marcel 2nd Track project by Granite Construction as the 2016 Small Project of the Year.
AAR: Weekly U.S. traffic relatively flat
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported Dec. 21 that for the week ending Dec. 17, 2016, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 523,949 carloads and intermodal units, down 0.3% compared with the same week last year—relatively flat.
Pan Am Southern, Pan Am Railways take MBTA to task over PTC
Pan Am Southern LLC (PAS, the joint venture of Pan Am Railways and Norfolk Southern) and Pan Am Railways (PAR) itself on Dec. 20 served default and dispute notices concerning “important operational safety agreements” with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) involving Positive Train Control (PTC).
