For Miner, an EOCC Milestone

Miner Enterprises, Inc. reports that it has received orders for more than 1,000 carsets of its Miner Friction Cushioning System (Miner FCS) end-of-car-cushioning (EOCC) devices, adding to the 2,700 carsets already in service. The new orders, expected to be shipped during the next few months, are from Class I railroads and car lessors for boxcars and coil-steel gondolas.

Metrolinx and Canada’s Ontario Province on March 27 broke ground at Exhibition Station, the western terminus of the new, 9.7-mile (15.6-kilometer) Ontario Line, an expansion of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) rapid transit system.

Canadian Supply Chain Task Force Chairs Selected

During Canada’s National Supply Chain Summit in January, Minister of Transport Omar Alghabra announced that a National Supply Chain Task Force would be created “to consult broadly with industry, associations and experts to examine the key pressures and make recommendations regarding short and long-term actions to strengthen the efficiency, fluidity and resiliency of transportation infrastructure and reliability of Canada’s supply chain.” On March 28, co-chairs were named: Jean Gattuso and Louise Yako.
