FRA Issues Safety Advisory on Weather-Related Accidents/Incidents

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has released a safety advisory recommending six actions that railroads take “to reduce weather-related accidents/incidents and improve the efficiency of the national rail network during severe weather events.”

AASHTO Elects 2023-24 Leaders

CSX Update on Howells Yard Derailment

CSX late on Nov. 17 reported that recovery efforts were under way at its Howells Yard in Atlanta, Ga., following an early-morning collision of a Norfolk Southern (NS) train with a standing CSX train at an interchange point.
