Stantec will acquire Morrison Hershfield, a Markham, Ontario-based engineering and management firm. Also, McIntosh Perry, a consulting engineering company in Toronto, Ontario, and Beam Longest & Neff, LLC (BLN), an infrastructure engineering firm in Indianapolis, Ind., have rebranded as Egis, their French parent company, effective Jan. 1.

For NS, $3.1B in 2023 Economic Development

Norfolk Southern (NS) teamed with 62 customers on industrial development projects totaling $3.1 billion in 2023, reflecting expansion or construction of new facilities along the 22-state rail network, the Class I reported Jan. 9.

The Rail Connect Partners joint venture has entered into an alliance development agreement with Toronto’s Metrolinx for the East Harbour Transit Hub.
