Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) joins Ontario’s One Fare Program. Also, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) advances South Coast commuter rail project; and Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) begins decommissioning its Type 1 light rail vehicles.

STB Seeks RSTAC Nominations

The Surface Transportation Board (STB) is seeking nominations for candidates to fill a large-railroad representative vacancy on its Railroad-Shipper Transportation Advisory Council (RSTAC).

“Americans cannot stop their lives because a disaster damages their transit systems,” FTA Administrator Nuria Fernandez said Feb. 5. “We know it is critical to fund recovery efforts for these systems, so they can keep taking Americans to work, school, doctors’ appointments, and other important destinations.”

The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) launches the Office of Customer Experience. Also, New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (MTA) capital repairs are slated to cost $43 billion over five years; Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is cutting operating budget costs in 2024 due to a shortfall; and an amended Full Funding Grant Agreement has been signed for Honolulu’s Skyline.
