Clackamas, Ore.-based United Streetcar, LLC has begun delivering the first of eight streetcars to the city of Tucson, Ariz., with arrival expected Friday, Aug. 30, 2013.

RSI: Interchange 2013 registration deadline extended

LIRR eyes weekend service upgrades

MTA Long Island Rail Road says it will hold a public hearing Aug. 27 on a proposal to restore half-hourly service on its Port Washington Branch on weekends, as well as on a proposal to operate weekend service on the Ronkonkoma Branch between Ronkonkoma and Greenport for approximately 10 additional weekends each year. 

Parsons hails CHSRA contract milestone

U.S. freight traffic flexes mid-August muscle

Both U.S. carload freight traffic and U.S. intermodal volume advanced during the week ending Aug. 17, 2013, the Association of American Railroads said Thursday, Aug. 22, with total U.S. rail traffic rising 2.0% measured against the comparable week of 2012.

CP ordered to interchange trains with MM&A

Canadian Pacific said Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, that it has been ordered by the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) to interchange traffic with short line railroad Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway (MM&A), “effective immediately.”

Oklahoma City panel chooses streetcar route

A recommended route for a 4.6-mile downtown streetcar route has been selected by an Oklahoma City advisory panel, with the proposal advancing to a full citizens advisory board and the City Council for review. Approval from both bodies is expected.
