United Streetcar chosen in D.C. do-over

Washington, D.C.’s District Department of Transportation has chosen United Streetcar, LLC—again—to supply two streetcars for use on DDOT’s H Street/Benning Road Line in the city’s Northeast.

DART readies Orange Line test train

Dallas Area Rapid Transit Monday is running its first light rail transit test train on the five-mile extension of the Orange Line into Irving, Tex. The train will travel from Bachman Station to the Irving Convention Center.

PATH Harrison station replacement expedited

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey said Wednesday the 76-year-old Harrison PATH rail station is on a faster track to replacement after Port Authority commissioners last week authorized key steps to move the project forward.

Rail Logistics-Cold Train announces partnership

Quincy, Wash.-based Rail Logistics-Cold Train and Interstate Distributor Co. have announced a partnership in which Cold Train will utilize a dedicated fleet of trucks from Interstate Distributor Co. for short-haul drayage service to and from the Port of Quincy, Wash., Intermodal Terminal.

Bombardier train wins Red Dot Design Award

Bombardier Transportation said Wednesday its Regina X55 intercity train, which entered service with Sweden’s SJ in February, has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Design Award by Germany’s renowned Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen.
