The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) recently released a report that assesses the benefits of a real-time railroad crossing information system for first responders.

TTL Selects 13 Companies to Continue Partnering With Transit Agencies

The Transit Tech Lab (TTL) on Feb. 10 announced that the 13 companies selected to participate in last year’s program will continue to work with regional transportation agency partners in larger-scale pilots to “demonstrate how their technology can improve transportation and deliver essential services more effectively.”

Port of Long Beach: ‘Strong’ Start for 2025

Port of Brunswick Takes Top Spot for Autos, Heavy Equipment

Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) President and CEO Griff Lynch recently announced that Colonel’s Island Terminal at the Port of Brunswick has become the nation’s busiest port for autos and heavy equipment, handling more than two million tons of Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro/Ro) cargo in 2024.

Transport Canada: C$33.1MM for Infrastructure Projects in B.C. and Alberta

Transport Canada on Feb. 12 announced an investment of up to C$33.1 million for six projects in Alberta and British Columbia under the National Trade Corridors Fund to “promote growth and better connect communities and regions across Canada.”

AAR: Carloads Down, Intermodal Up for Week 6

Total U.S. rail traffic for the week ending Feb. 8, 2025 (Week 6) was up 3.7% from the prior-year period, with intermodal gains offsetting carload losses, according to the Association of American Railroads’ (AAR) latest report.
