BLET Ratifies Contract With GWR; BMWED, HESR Ratify New Agreement

Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) members have ratified a new contract with the Great Western Railway of Colorado (GWR). Also, Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (BMWED) members on the Huron and Eastern Railway (HESR) have ratified a new collective bargaining agreement by a vote of 14-4.

Virginia and Maryland leaders endorse DMVMoves funding and recommendations for the future of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) and area transit systems. Also, the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Board of Directors vote on a resolution that proposes a new governance and funding model; and Cochrane Mayor Morgan Nagel supports the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Canada’s Building Trades Unions, the Building Trades of Alberta and Friends of Calgary Airport-Banff Rail (CABR).

ITS Logistics’ February 2026 US Port/Rail Ramp Freight Index identifies a “return to seasonal Lunar New Year demand patterns layered over weather and regulatory-related disruption impacting inland transportation. While overall port and rail ramp operations remain at normal levels for now, downstream rail and trucking networks are facing elevated concern in select regions.”

Trinity: ‘Disciplined Lease Pricing’ and ‘Active Portfolio Management’ Delivers ‘Strong’ 4Q25, Full-Year Results

“Trinity Industries delivered strong full-year 2025 results with an EPS of $3.14–an improvement of $1.33 year over year–driven by higher lease rates, gains on lease portfolio sales, lower administrative costs, and a $194 million non-cash gain from a railcar partnership restructuring,” President and CEO Jean Savage reported during a fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 earnings announcement on Feb 12. “We ended the year with an Adjusted ROE of 24.4%, and our cash flow from operations metric, which includes net gains on lease portfolio sales, was $458 million.”
