BNSF 1Q24: Revenue Down; OR Increases

BNSF on May 6 released first-quarter 2024 financial results, including operating income of $1.720 billion, a 7% decline from the prior-year period’s $1.856 billion, and an operating ratio (OR) of 69.5%, a 1.1-percentage-point increase compared with 2023’s 68.4%.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) approves its Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 and FY 2026 operating and capital budgets. USDOT Issues RFI on Potential Applications of AI

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Advanced Research Projects Agency—Infrastructure (ARPA-I) is seeking input from interested parties on the potential applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in transportation, as well as “emerging challenges and opportunities in creating and deploying AI technologies in applications across all modes of transportation.”
