Bentley Opens Nominations for Year in Infrastructure 2020 Awards

Bentley Systems Inc. recently announced its call for nominations for the Year in Infrastructure 2020 Awards program. The awards, which are judged by independent juries of industry experts, recognize infrastructure projects for digital innovations that improve project delivery and/or asset performance. The deadline for nominations is May 1, 2020.

Cowen Touts Class I “Resiliency”

Cowen and Company revealed its rail-earnings takeaways, which saw the rails tout pricing despite weak volumes in 4Q. However, Cowen said it believes “that the effects of the Coronavirus on supply chains are not fully appreciated, with contacts telling us that Asian ports are at 40-50% operational capacity—railroad most at risk is Union Pacific. CN’s network is nearly shut down because of pipeline protesters and could lag the group near-term. We continue to favor Kansas City Southern among the rails.”

ARRC Promotes Mesloh to CMO

The Alaska Railroad (ARRC) is promoting Sean Mesloh to Chief Mechanical Officer, effective March 1. The current CMO is 36-year railroad veteran Don Freestone, who retires February 28.

KCS Promotes Company Vet Godderz

The Kansas City Southern (KCS) board of directors recently promoted Adam J. Godderz from General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to Senior Vice President – Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary.

CN Orders “Progressive, Methodical” Shutdown of Eastern Canada Operations

CN announced Feb. 13 that it “has been forced to initiate a disciplined and progressive shutdown of its operations in Eastern Canada. This includes stopping and safely securing all transcontinental trains across our Canadian network, and may imminently lead to temporary layoffs within the company’s Eastern Canadian operational staff.”
