MARTA is the ninth largest transit system in the U.S. and North America that provides, bus, rail and mobility services for the elderly & disabled. MARTA's service population is 1.65 million in the City of Atlanta, Fulton and Dekalb Counties.

MARTA provides service for nearly half a million passenger boarding’s each weekday.  MARTA operates 600 buses with 132 bus routes covering 1000 route miles per day.  MARTA’s Mobility service operates 175 lift-vans.   MARTA operates 338 rail cars in 38 stations on 48.1 miles of rail.  MARTA provides direct access to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport with a rail station that drops off right inside the terminal.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and three years experience in track construction, inspection, or maintenance. Must have the skill and ability in using a variety of tools required in track maintenance. Must be able to accurately measure, record, and report any deviations from track safety
standards and construction specifications. Must have the ability to read and comprehend charts, plans, and specifications. Track maintenance skills are required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must attend and pass a MARTA class on track inspection taught by a Federal Railroad Associate certified instructor within one year of obtaining the position. Must have a Commercial Driver’s License or minimally possess a CDL permit (successfully have passed the written portion of the CDL exam). Employees will be required to obtain their CDL license within 90 days following employment
