MARTA is the ninth largest transit system in the U.S. and North America that provides, bus, rail and mobility services for the elderly & disabled.  MARTA’s service population is 1.65 million in the City of Atlanta, Fulton and Dekalb Counties.  MARTA provides service for nearly half a million passenger boarding’s each weekday. 

MARTA operates 600 buses with 132 bus routes covering 1000 route miles per day.  MARTA’s Mobility service operates 175 lift-vans.   MARTA operates 338 rail cars in 38 stations on 48.1 miles of rail.  MARTA provides direct access to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport with a rail station that drops off right inside the terminal.  
 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related technical field. Six years of demonstrated job experience utilizing scientific and engineering methods in the identification and mitigation of system and sub-system hazards along with practical application in accident/incident and investigations management and corrective actions. An Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Safety Specialist in Rail or Bus (CSS-Rail/Bus) or Masters Degree is desired. Experience can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
 
INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
ASP, CSP or CSS-Rail/Bus desirable
