Quality Assurance Engineers – Atlanta, GA

MARTA is the ninth largest transit system in the U.S. and North America that provides, bus, rail and mobility services for the elderly & disabled.  MARTA’s service population is 1.65 million in the City of Atlanta, Fulton and Dekalb Counties.  MARTA provides service for nearly half a million passenger boarding’s each weekday.  

MARTA operates 600 buses with 132 bus routes covering 1000 route miles per day.  MARTA’s Mobility service operates 175 lift-vans.   MARTA operates 338 rail cars in 38 stations on 48.1 miles of rail.  MARTA provides direct access to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport with a rail station that drops off right inside the terminal.  
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline and a minimum of six (6) years of experience performing Quality Assurance work at an advanced level such as TQM (Total Quality Management) implementation, DOE (Design Of Experiments), automatic quality regulating system through SPC (Statistical Processing Control). Experience is preferred in Rail Maintenance, Transit Vehicles Systems, Elevator and Escalators, Faregates or Bus Maintenance. Must be proficient in writing concise, logical and grammatically correct reports, plans and procedures. Must be proficient with mathematical concepts such as probability, sampling distributions, descriptive and inferential statistics. Knowledge and utilization of MARTA MPAC system is highly desired. In lieu of educational requirement, directly related work experience utilizing six sigma methods may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
 
INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification desired: CMI(Certified Mechanical Inspector), CQT (Certified Quality Technician), CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), CQIA (Certified Quality Improvement Associate) and/or CSSGB (Certified Six Sigma Green Belt). Maintain valid Georgia Driver’s License and be able to travel by car, air, and boat for short and extended periods within a 48-hour notice. Must be able to travel with 24 hours notice. Will be required to work on various shifts on various days. Will be trained and will be required to work in any area supported by Quality Assurance. Must complete a minimum of 8 hours of quality related course work annually to be considered in good standing for this position.
