KCS sees stronger traffic in 2013 and beyond

Starling and Executive Chairman Michael R. Haverty say they view 2013 as a year that will see a continuation of the growth that produced record revenues in 2012 despite challenges to utility coal and grain businesses.
“The fact that we produced record top-line and bottom-line results in the face of those challenges speaks to the strength of our organization and employees,” they said.
“When we look beyond 2013 our outlook for growth continues to be strong. Our strategically located single-line network between the U.S. and Mexico is poised to take advantage of the opportunities that we see ahead. Near-sourcing to North America, particularly Mexico, is a reality. We believe the rate at which companies open manufacturing plants will only accelerate.”
