Hub’s 3Q intermodal revenue rises 11%

The Hub Group, Inc. Monday reported that its third-quarter intermodal revenue climbed 11% $444 million compared with the same period one year ago. Intermodal volume increased 9%.

Hub, a light-asset transportation management company, reported record net income of $18.5 million for the third quarter, and increase of 14% compared with the 2011 quarter.

Hub’s truck brokerage revenue increased 6% to $88 million. Logistics revenue increased 14% to $87 million. The Hub’s operating income was $25.3 million.

The company this year broke ground for a 140,000-square-foot international headquarters in Oak Brook, Ill., just west of Chicago.
