InnoTrans notes exhibitors from India, Near & Middle East

More countries are making theirdebut each time this event is held. The United Arab Emirates, which will beattending in Berlin for the first time, plans to invest several billion U.S.dollars in transport projects over the next few years.
Exhibitors from thefederation of seven emirates will include the Road & Transport Authority ofthe Emirate of Dubai. This transport company was set up five years ago afterthe government of the Gulf state had given the highest priority to solving itstransport problems. The city of Dubai is one of the fastest growingconurbations anywhere in the world. Maharan International is another companyfrom Dubai and, according to its managing director Bahram Ostovari: "It isa good occasion for Maharan International to participate in the world’s largestinternational trade fair focusing on Railway Technology and present itsstate-of-the-art railway signaling and telecommunication systems."
A total of 16 companiesfrom Turkey are exhibiting in the areas of Railway Technology and Interiors.Nine of them are staging their presentations on a 400-square-meter combinedstand. Compared with previous years suppliers now account for a larger shareamong the exhibiting companies. Among the most prominent exhibitors from Turkeyare ASAS Aluminium San Vetic, Kentkart EGE Elektronik and Türkiye Lokomotif veMotor.
The five exhibitors fromIran include Wagonpars, one of the largest manufacturers of railway rollingstock in the Middle East. Irankhodro Rail Industries Company (IRICO) isdisplaying its extensive range of products, from bogies to complete undergroundtrains, in Berlin.
G. Team Security fromIsrael is a specialist in security for passenger and goods transport and canalso offer extensive consultancy services. Oran Safety Glass manufacturerslaminated windows for rail vehicles, as well as toughened glass, at its plantnear Jerusalem. The company’s products include front and side windows for railvehicles. BFG International from Bahrain is an internationally activemanufacturer of fibreglass-reinforced plastics (FRP).
India’s presence is muchmore in evidence at InnoTrans 2010 than it was two years ago. The number ofexhibitors has risen to 12, with six of them presenting their latest productsand services on a combined stand. This first combined Indian stand at thistrade fair is being organized by the country’s Engineering Export PromotionCouncil, which has been helping to develop exports of the products and servicesof Indian engineers since 1955. Among the Indian exhibitors are AutometersAlliance Ltd, Kemrock Industries and Exports and Medha Servo Drives PVT.Autometers and Medha are primarily engaged in supplying electrical andelectronic components for the rail industry, while Kemrock specializes infiberglass-reinforced plastics.
A total of 1,914 exhibitorsfrom 41 countries presented their innovative products and services at InnoTrans2008. The 85,592 trade visitors came to Berlin from more than 100 countries. Atthe eighth InnoTrans, which takes place from September 21-24. 2010, the mainemphasis will be on Railway Technology, Infrastructure, Tunnel Construction,Interiors and Public Transport.
