Stevens named chief engineer at FEC

Florida East Coast Railway has promoted Robert (Bob) Stevens to Vice President and Chief Engineering Officer, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer James R. Hertwig. Stevens is based in Jacksonville, Fla., at the Bowden Yard office.

Stevens joined the Florida East Coast Railway in 2007 as General Director, Roadway Maintenance, and was promoted to Chief Engineer in 2008. Prior to joining the FEC, he received his Bachelor’s degree from Eastern University in Philadelphia, served in the United States Navy, and worked for CSX and Consolidated Rail Corp. Stevens has more than 35 years of experience within the rail industry and has held such titles as Director of Programs, Director of Engineering, and Assistant Chief Engineer.
