Railcomm aids New England Central Railroad

Fairport, N.Y.-based Railcomm said Monday it has been selected to provide remote control to one of New England Central Railroad’s bridges.

railcomm_logo.jpgRailComm’s Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) System is currently used to dispatch the railroad, based in St. Albans, Vt. The DOC System will be modified to include control of the bridge.

Additionally, RailComm will construct a secondary communications link that will be outfitted with a cellular communication link to the office. This cellular link will provide back up to the primary link.

New England Central Railroad stretches about 330 miles through Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. NECR is a subsidiary of Jacksonville, Fla.-based RailAmerica, Inc.
