FTA OKs Honolulu elevated metro line
Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-ChiefThe Federal Transit Administration Tuesday issued a Record of Decision approving the City and County of Honolulu to proceed with construction of a $5.5 billion, 20-mile elevated metro rail line.
“This is a huge accomplishment and reflects the strong confidence the FTA has in our project,” Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle said in a statement. “Our transit team has worked closely with FTA throughout the process, and this shows that our plan is sound and our project is on solid footing.”
