FEC names new COO
Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-ChiefFlorida East Coast Railway (FEC) has named Joel Haka Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective Feb. 21, 2011.
Haka brings more than 30 years experience in the maritime operations industry to FEC. Most recently he served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of CMA CGM (America) LLC in Norfolk, Va., overseeing its North American marine, terminal, and inland operations. Prior to that, he worked as senior vice president of corporate operations for P&O Nedlloyd, where he was responsible for terminal operations, intermodal, and truck operations.
Haka is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y., and is a retired Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve.
